There is no question that 2020 has been a challenging year for most people. Our ideas of what is considered "normal" and our routines and connections have been thrown out the window as we adapt to a new, more isolated way of life. During these challenging times it is important to focus on mental health and understand how to keep ourselves and our children in a positive mental place.

We know these are challenging times and the mental health of our students, families, and staff are so important. Our district social workers and counselors have developed an amazing website to support the mental health of our Evergreen community. You can find the information on the eesd.org webpage.

At no other time in our history have we experienced this level of student anxiety and depression. Our partnership with Care Solace, a telehealth and virtual therapy resource is available to help our community. If you or a family member is experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, or other mental health conditions triggered by the current pandemic or other events, we encourage you to use their free services to help access vetted mental health care resources.

Our school office is open this week, by appointment only, from 8:00-4:00. The last appointment available is Friday, June 26th at 3:30. The office will reopen with regular hours on August 10th.

Dear K Smith families, We have now come to the end of another school year. While we are not ending the way we would hope, we are so proud of all of our students and the work they have done during this difficult time. Our teachers and other staff members have worked incredibly hard to support your children and we hope you have been able to reach out and thank them to share your appreciation!

We appreciate all the work you continue to do to support your children with Distance Learning. We would all rather be back on campus and many have settled in to a routine, others are finding it more of a struggle to keep their kids motivated and on track. Hopefully you got a chance to see last week's Newsletter about how our K Smith Habits look through on-line learning. This week, we'd like to share the At-Home learning version with you. Your child's teacher will use these Habits as a teaching tool to support their distance learning.
